First Section of The Link at One Za’abeel Lifted To Final Position

The lift — one of the heaviest in the region — was carried out over 12 days, with a total weight of 8,500 tonnes.
ALEC and Ithra Dubai, marked a new milestone at the two-tower development, One Za’abeel, with the lift of the 192-metre-long first section of ‘The Link’ to its final position.
More than 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks were used for the operation, collectively by a team of global experts in the fields of construction, engineering, and contracting, with the first section of ‘The Link’ is now in it final position.
Whilst the second lift, which will weigh 900 tonnes, is scheduled for October 2020. Following which, The Link will reach its final position at 226 metres above the ground. Upon completion, The Link will break a the world record for being the longest cantilevered building in the world.
