Dubai Hills Mall Wins MENA Project of the Year Award at MEED Awards 2022

The MEED Projects Awards has become the leading stamp of quality and achievement for anyone operating in the MENA projects sector. The awards recognise the construction element of project delivery and consider the value and quality of a project throughout its entire life cycle, from the design concept to engineering and construction and its wider contribution to society and the environment.

An independent panel of over 40 industry experts has judged the MEED Project Awards in association with Mashreq assessing each entry purely on the merits of its entry. The 2022 edition witnessed over 300+ entries, 100 National Winners & Finalists, and 25 MENA Winners.

ALEC were initially national finalists at the MEED Project Awards 2022 for Retail Project of the Year – Dubai Hills Mall. They then went on to become MENA winners that night.

ALEC Reaches 25% Completion Milestone on teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi.

Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, announced 25% construction completion of the immersive, multi-sensory attraction teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, located in the Saadiyat Cultural District.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, announced 25% construction completion of the immersive, multi-sensory attraction teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, located in the Saadiyat Cultural District.

A partnership with teamLab, the globally acclaimed, interdisciplinary Tokyo-based art collective, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is slated to be completed in 2024 and set to be an immersive, inspirational space at the intersection of art and technology, igniting curiosity, imagination, and creativity in all who visit. The latest offering of the Saadiyat Cultural District, the 17,000sqm (GFA) teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi building has been conceived with unparalleled installations that will be unique to Abu Dhabi, created through an extensive experimentation process.

Visitors will be invited to open their minds and embark on a journey through teamLab’s new concept of Environmental Phenomena, which offers a new perspective on the world around us. The featured artworks are created and shaped by the environment which produces the various phenomena, and the unique architecture plays an important role in providing the artworks with an environment to evolve freely and organically, as if they were life-forms themselves. The experience will be unique to each visitor, changing with each visit, as they discover a place in which to endlessly explore and transcend the limits of their imagination.

ALEC Reaches 25% Completion Milestone on Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi.

Miral in partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi has appointed ALEC, a UAE-based leading innovative construction group, as the main contractor for the construction of this mega-project.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, have announced that the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi has reached 25% completion, with the UAE-based construction group ALEC having been appointed as the main contractor earlier this year.

Located in Saadiyat Cultural District, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is anticipated to be the largest of its kind in the region, allowing visitors to travel on a 14-billion-year journey through time and space – from the earliest origins of our universe to a thought-provoking perspective into our Earth’s future. Due to be completed at the end of 2025, it will be a scientific research and teaching institution and an educational resource for learning about the evolving story of our planet, aiming to ignite a life-long passion for the natural world in visitors of all ages.

The museum will join the diverse cultural institutions and museums located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, which features the renowned Louvre Abu Dhabi. The district will soon welcome the Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the UAE; Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, focusing on global Modern and Contemporary art; and the Abrahamic Family House, composed of a mosque, a synagogue and a church within one shared space, to inspire and nurture peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.

Dubai Hills Mall Opens Today!

The two-level Dubai Hills Mall features an inimitable selection of retail, dining, and entertainment concepts. With the unveiling of Dubai Hills Mall, Dubai Hills Estate brings a world-class leisure and entertainment brand portfolio that includes one-of-a-kind experiences.

Visitors will now have access to Roxy Cinemas and the Adventure Park. The Storm Coaster, a roller coaster experience located within the mall, is slated to be a popular draw for thrill seekers.

The first-of-its kind, indoor roller coaster features a modern and immersive preshow experience, which places guests in the exciting world of storm chasing. It offers an action-packed experience for riders comprising a vertical launch, speed changes, a sharp drop and sudden acceleration.

Additionally, the attraction comprises three trains, each with a capacity of 12 riders, that runs simultaneously and is a multi-vehicle inversion coaster which wraps around the entire building it’s housed in.

Groups of 36 visitors will experience 360-degree immersion throughout the two-and-a-half-minute ride, as they are lifted high above the Dubai skyline. In order to experience this adventure, riders must be at least 130cm in height. Blending real-world footage with cinematic special effects, guests will be plunged into the heart of an epic mega-storm.

In addition to the a slew of retail stores, food and beverage outlets, and restaurants, Geant hypermarket will also serve the neighbouring community.

The new mall is easily accessible from Downtown Dubai, Emirates Hills, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches and other communities in the vicinity via Al Khail Road and Umm Suqeim Street.

It also comes fitted out with over 7,000 parking spaces that are conveniently located within the massive parking complexes on site.
